A Hot Toddy to put hairs on your chest!
This recipe was concocted for truly medicinal reasons - The traditional Hot Toddy buffed up with a few extra chill fighting ingredients. . . . But it tastes so great it has fast become a staple winter sipper. Perfect on a cold night (or day!)
Place a mint teabag into a teapot along with a couple of slices of fresh ginger and 4-5 black peppercorns. Pour in boiling water and brew for a few minutes.
Remove teabag and squeeze in the juice of half a lemon.
Pour into cups or heatproof glasses and add honey to taste and more lemon if required.
Finish off with a generous slug of your favourite whisky and a slice of fresh lemon. Also works well with brandy or rum
Tip If you really wanted to rev up the spice pop a chilli in with the boiling water. Not for the faint hearted!
